Irish Dance & Carousel Horse Shine

Longtime Berkshire Carousel volunteer Phil O’Rourke helped bring a touch of magic to this year’s Pittsfield Fourth of July Parade. Coordinating with the Berkshire Carousel team, Phil arranged the loan of one of our hand-carved horses for his daughter’s float representing Scoil Rince Bréifne Ó Ruairc. The Irish dance school is based right here in the Berkshires.

The float featured talented dancers from Scoil Rince Bréifne Ó Ruairc in full costume, celebrating Irish heritage through vibrant music and movement. The carousel horse added nostalgic charm, reminding many onlookers of joyful rides and the lasting spirit of community.

We’re always proud to support local traditions, and this year’s parade was another wonderful example of neighbors coming together to make something beautiful. Thanks to Phil, the parade team, and the dancers for making it a memorable event!
